Emerging during the 1890s, the Art Nouveau movement (also known as the Modern Style) was responsible for an eruption of nature-inspired interior decor trends - with cast iron radiators not escaping the attention of this energetic movement. 

The result of this collision between the Art Nouveau movement and traditional cast iron radiators was the Duchess, which has been lovingly reproduced here by Trads.

Available in two heights - 590mm or 785mm - and in multiple sections - from three to over 30 - the Duchess 2 Column is a highly versatile cast iron radiator that’ll not only add a dazzling visual touch to your home, but keep it toasty warm too. 

Crafted with care

Unlike other retailers of cast iron radiators, Trads designs and finishes our cast iron radiators right here in the UK. 

The Duchess 2 Column begins life as a set of intricate, detailed CAD drawings produced in-house by Trads. 

This is followed by the production process which takes place in a foundry. We’ve worked with the same foundries for over 20 years, developing a process which produces the highest-quality cast iron radiators.

The process begins with molten iron being poured into a CNC-machined cast to the tightest tolerances. This cast is true to the very first Duchess design - so you’ll be getting a radiator which has a direct lineage to the originals.

Once the casting process is complete and the foundry and Trads are happy with the results, the Duchess 2 Column is then ready for painting and finishing.
